Day 6 Austria : Salzburg

With salzburg card , bus is also FOC so we took a bus to the old town area
Our 2nd day in Salzburg , we will be visiting the Hohensalzburg Fortress and Hellbrunn Palace. Both are covered under the Salzburg card. ( Also if you arrived before 11 am , you can visit some other part of the castle for free.
Some of the display in the different section of the castle.
Quick lunch at the foot of the castle area near the Funicular station.

Next We visited the Hellbrunn Palace , From city area ( or main station ) take Line 25 ( bus fare is included by the Salzburg card as well. The have tour at different timing , so once reached just exchange your ticket with the Salzburg card and they will let you know the next available time for the tour. The tour has to be guided as all the "trick" is not auto.Oh ys i mentioned "trick" , this place was built for Salzburg’s prince-archbishop Markus Sittikus and he had planned for it to be an oasis of enjoyment ( to see other people get wet from the trick fountains) and leisure ( for him).Eg there is a large dinning table ..... the only seat that will not get wet is the host seat. ( JUST PREPARE TO GET WET !!!! )
There is a museum next to the exit which you can visit for free with a lot of artifact display
By taking Line 25 , you will be able to go back to the city and the must visit place will be one of the film location for Sound of Music - Mirabell Palace and Gardens.
My take on Do Re Mi
Café Tomaselli - Supposed to be Mozart's fvourite cafe, over here m they will bring out the cake in trays then you can choose on the spot.Very typical european culture , just sit by the patio , enjoy coffee and cakes and look are people walk by the street.
Next we decide to go to Getreidegasse , which is a busy shopping street in the historic Old Town of Salzburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. It is known for the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at No. 9, where he lived until the age of 17. The narrow street is characterised by numerous high town houses side by side with its wrought iron guild signs. ( even McD sign is different here ) And we went to one of the famous hotdog shop in one of the alley. Any there was Q not only by tourists but locals as well ( and yes their hotrod comes with curry powder )
From there we walk to the Mönchsberg lift , did not planned to come in the first place but since it was included in the Salzburg card so we decide to have a "bird's eye view" of the city.
The original "Mozart" chocolate at Furst

Le Cordon Bleu
Instant noodle using my Barocook
Pork Thigh ?
We had wanted to visit Hangar 7 ( visit and maybe dinner ) and Designer Outlet Salzburg but both were too tired and thus decide to just settle dinner with instant noodle + meats from Spur supermarket at the main station. Hangar 7 is near the airport and is own by the boss of red bull and he had his collections display there + restaurant and bar , accessible by bus line 2 (stop Karolingerstraße) or bus line 10 (stop Pressezentrum) ( about 25 min from the city centre ). The Designer Outlet Salzburg is just 5 min walk from the airport.
