NZ South Island Motorhome Road trip 2018 Day 8

Day 8 , half of the trip is gone , today we be going to Queenstown - where all the extreme sports are. Few hundred metres away from where we parked last night got a lookout point which allows you to see the valley clearly ( cover picture on top )
Sunrise
We decided to detour to Arrowtown to take a look before we hit Queenstown ( which might had been a bad choice cos maybe I will be able to skydive at a higher height instead, more about this later). From what we read was there is a "Chinese" settlement there in Arrowtown where the Chinese came over long long ago for gold digging.
I seriously dunno how they survived in the winter , look at those remains of the houses they stayed in. But one this is , i think stone houses actually cut off the cold from outside , cos when we were there , it was like 10 deg +/- and we do feel a bit chilly but when you are inside the stone houses , you can find that it's slightly warmer then outside, kind of feel like it's some sort of wind breaker.

Parking fee machine
Do take note that Motorhome are NOT allows to park in Queenstown CBD area , It could get you a fine between $40-$60 for that. The only parking we found nearby is the one at Boundary Street. There are 33 lots there for Motorhome/campervan and it cost like $1/hour ? also i think you can only park from 8am - 6pm ? It's just about 5-10 min walk from the CBD area where all the shops are.
Do note also if you wish to park overnight , there are 2 holiday park nearby , other then that , if you prefer to Freedom camping like us ( to save $ ) you have to drive outside Queenstown ( think at least 30 min drive min ).
Big AL Burger !!!
Fergburger !!!!!! there is no like it or don't like it , there is only LOVE it or WANT more of it. It's the BEST burger of New Zealand ! So if you are in Queenstown , do sure to grab 1 ... or 2. We had them for lunch for 2 days and out of the 4 burgers we tried , go for the Big AL .... you won't regret. My mouth is still watering now that i am writing this. They are open from 8am to 5 am , yup 23 hours a day. Heard there used to be very long queue but now it's not so bad , you should be able to get them waiting 30 min ? Here's their Menu.
Paragliding from the Hill

The other reason why we stop by Queenstown is because I wanted to go for Skydiving and i decided I wanna do it here in Queenstown as supposed this was the place where it all first started. as NZONE quoted " Tandem Skydiving in Queenstown since 1990, NZONE Skydive was NZ’s first Tandem Skydive operation and is the only Tandem Skydive company to have won New Zealand’s Supreme Tourism Award. So here brings the answer to why I said , it might had been better if we came here earlier instead of Arrowtown first. Cos when I came here , the earlier slots that I wanted was booked so I had to settled for a later one ( actually was not so bad after all cos we get to have the morning to visit Glenorchy ). Anyway after booking for my tandem dive for the next day and had the Fergburger , we head out of Queenstown towards Glenorchy direction as we decided to do Freedom Camping again and saw online someone recommended a very nice site for that, about 30 min drive away.
Very sad cos it started to rain just before we reach the campground.... If not it would have been a great place for night sky with the lake view. There was only a few motorhome when we got there but soon it gets more and only in the morning we found out we got "sandwiched" by 2.
Dinner becomes easier using the oven now
